Memorial Day 2021 Celebrated in Owego Candor to Celebrate the 4th of July This Year
On Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who died while serving in
the United States Armed Forces. On Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2021, there
was no parade or ceremony again this year due to COVID-19 pandemic.
This year several Tioga County organizations teamed up to hold a Memorial
Day ‘Car’ parade in honor of veterans. A Roll Call of Honor was read by Mary
Beth Jones and JoAnn Walter, and the Service of Remembrance was given by
Jim Raftis. The Honor Roll and Remembrance Service were broadcast live on
WEBO Radio and on the internet .
